Guido Trentini (Verona, 1889 - Verona, 1975) Guido Trentini was a painter, who attended the Cignaroli Academy in Verona. He exhibited in the national exhibition of the Gran Guardia in Verona and in that of the Sala della Gioventù in Venice. He participated in five editions of the Venice Biennale, where he won the prize in 1922, and in the Rome Quadrennial. In 1919 he exhibited at the Turin Quadrennial, at the Ca' Pesaro exhibition and in 1922 he participated in the Contemporary Italian Art Exhibition in Brussels. He subsequently became a professor of painting at the Cignaroli Academy. Trentini was initially affected by the landscape tendencies of the Veronese area, and then became part of the Italian twentieth century group in the 1920s. His painting is generally characterized by immediacy and simplicity of expression and by formal rigor. In the 1940s he approached cubist tendencies, arriving at a total simplification and purification of the image.
