Franco Vasconi was born in Spigno Monferrato in 1920 and died in Milan in 2014. In the 1930s he studied in Milan, at the Beato Angelico School of Christian Art and the Scuola degli Artifici di Brera. His artistic activity has developed through painting, sculpture, scenography and graphic work. The first personal exhibition was in '47 in Gallarate. We are still in the field of classical realism which starts from the ways of observing reality in a naturalistic, both plastic and chromatic key and in this field his meeting with Ennio Morlotti was fundamental. From the early 60s onwards, Vasconi's painting will develop through a personal language that relates to the world of perception and the expression of an intense emotionality aimed at the suggestion of hidden images and enhanced by a chromatism of luminous delicacy, born from the his experience as a fresco painter began in 1943 in Milan. Among the main works created in the public and private spheres we note: "Crucifixion", fresco created in the parish church of Roe di Sedico in '75, the fresco "Homage to freedom" created in '76 in Seregno, the large fresco "Horses ” of 1983 in the palace of Prince Bandar in Saudi Arabia in Riyadh and the mosaic in the Baptismal chapel of the Church of the Rosary in Milan of 1995. During his long and passionate artistic activity, he presented his works in numerous personal exhibitions and participated in reviews and awards. Among the numerous awards, in 1972, he received the Ambrogino d'oro from the municipality of Milan.
