Umberto Verdirosi Biography
Born in Piedmont in 1935. Lives in Rome. Sicilian father, Venetian mother. Painter, sculptor, actor, poet. Classical training. He is in his youth in various theater companies. He is the first young actor with the knight Mario Ruta. He will replace Gian Maria Volontè playing Aligi in D'Annunzio's “Jorio's daughter”. He is Romeo with Shakespeare, he is Paolo in "Francesca da Rimini", he is Cecco in Nino Berrini's "Beffardo", he is the Ancestor in Carlo Veneziani's text and a thousand others. At the age of twenty he formed "his" tent theater with his own company which he led until 1968, then he no longer dedicated himself to theater and directing but only to painting and sculpture. His works can be found throughout Europe and America, from Canada to Florida, from New Zealand to Australia. He has exhibited at Export Art in New York, in Miami and Sarasota (Florida) and in almost all Italian cities. He had galleries in Fiuggi, Chianciano, Spoleto, Assisi.
