Clemente Villy Biography
Villy Clemente, born in Livorno in 1923, is a painter of Macchiaioli extraction, but, as a good self-taught, he has not lacked experience in different cultural and pictorial environments. A painter with a spontaneous and accessible language, his spiritual teacher was Carlo Domenici. He validly represented, with his brushes, the popular life of Livorno. He participated in many group exhibitions and competitions, obtaining success. In fact, already in 1957, he moved to Paris, where he remained for a period of about four years. He has participated in the most valid art exhibitions, deserving awards and mentions. During his activity there was no lack of praise from art critics.
