The "AMA" (Artigiani Maiolicari Associati) factory was founded in 1950 by the brothers Elso, Luisa and Nemorino Sora, together with the ceramist Franco Ridolfi and the painter Vittorio Benvenuti, in the premises of via Morosini 27, in Pesaro. The "AMA" (Artigiani Maiolicari Associati) factory was founded in 1950 by the brothers Elso, Luisa and Nemorino Sora, together with the ceramist Franco Ridolfi and the painter Vittorio Benvenuti, in the premises of via Morosini 27, in Pesaro. In 1954 the laboratories were moved to via Chioggia and all the production was sold directly to the public in the shop on via Rossini. In 1954 the "AMA" was present, with a piece created by Elso Sora, at the XII National Ceramics Competition in Faenza. The trademark consists of the writing "AMA", often in gold, and the pieces on which the hippocampus symbol also appears were made personally by Elso Sora. Upon the death of Elso Sora in 1991, the factory continued its activity directed by his son Claudio. NB: the ceramic factory "Anonima Materiali Argillosi" in Rome, active in the same years, has the same acronym "AMA"
