Angelo Accardi, born in southern Italy, is an Italian artist.
Knowing from an early age that he wanted to be an artist, he decided to study fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in the country. After completing his studies, Accardi opened his own studio in the early 1990s, allowing him to continue studying painting and sculpture closer to his home. The creation of his personal studio began a personal artistic journey that continues today, in which Accardi develops some of the most intricate and enigmatic works in contemporary art. He continues to focus on the study of figures, both human and animated, and the spaces they inhabit. Accardi combines famous and recognizable works dating back centuries, some dating back to Ancient Roman sculpture and some to contemporary art from this decade. His “homage” to these artists encourages the audience to make connections between themselves and the artwork. Also, to create relationships between characters within the art.
In 2017, Eden Fine Art Gallery signed Accardi as one of its most important contemporary talents. He has since had exclusive solo exhibitions in London and Mykonos, as well as being represented intercontinentally. Accardi still lives and works in Italy today.
