Mario Acerbi (Milan, 1887 – Pavia, 1982) was an Italian painter. From 1900 to 1909 he successfully attended the Civica Scuola di Pittura di Pavia, a pupil of Carlo Sara, Romeo Borgognoni and Giorgio Kienerk, winning the Lauzi Prize in 1907 and the Frank Prize in 1910 (later canceled due to a procedural flaw). The teaching of his father Ezechiele, a well-known landscape painter and leading exponent of Pavia's artistic culture, was decisive in his education, based on a naturalist pictorial language. Since 1908 he has been present at the exhibitions in Turin and Milan with a repertoire of landscapes, portraits and flowers created following his father's most commercially successful models. He distinguished himself as a portraitist for clients in Milan and Pavia, obtaining official commissions from various Lombard institutions for which he created historical paintings and frescoed religious subjects.
