Sergio Agosti was born in Carpaneto (Piacenza) in 1933. He lived in Turin from 1961 to 1971, then moving to Chieri where he worked until 2003, the year of his death. He has been present in national and international artistic activity since 1953, receiving prizes and mentions. He has been staging personal exhibitions since 1955. He was reported for his painting in the Bolaffi - Mondadori Modern Art catalogs n.13 of 1978 (by Renzo Guasco) and n.19 of 1984 (by Angelo Dragone). He has illustrated and published books with etching, lithography, relief intaglio and screen printing. He made multi-wood woodcuts and multi-plate color engravings as well as glass and ceramic work. Since the Seventies he has dedicated himself to Textile Art, experimenting with different materials assembled together, as in the "Ambiguity of the Sign" cycle, made up of stones sewn with soft iridescent wool.
