Nino Aimone Biography

Nino Aimone (1932-2020) was an Italian artist.
From 1951 to 1954 he attended Felice Casorati's course in Turin and in those years he was one of the founders of the magazine "Orsa Minore". Initially his artistic activity was subordinated to work, first as a worker and then as an advertising graphic designer at Fiat, until 1961. Starting from 1967, he collaborated as an assistant at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, initially during Painting, then in that of Engraving and finally in that of Decoration.
In 1989 he obtained the chair of Decoration at the Academy of Fine Arts, first in Venice and the following year in Turin, where he taught shortly before disappearing.
He made his debut as an artist in 1954 and subsequently participated in several important national and international events, including the XXVIII and XXIX Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadrennial in 1965. In addition to numerous presentations in the catalogs of his personal exhibitions, there have been two monographs on Aimone were published: the first in 1978 edited by Paolo Fossati (Edizioni Grafis), the second in 1991 in the Akropolis series by Franco Masoero Edizioni d'Arte, with a text by Francesco Poli. In 1995, on the occasion of an anthological exhibition at the Circolo degli Artisti in Turin, a catalog edited by Marco Rosci and Pino Mantovani for the Piedmont region was published.
