Lorenzo Alborghetti Biography
Lorenzo Alborghetti was born in Chiari on 24 October 1939, attending the Brera Academy in Milan. He is considered a figurative painter, portraitist and landscape painter. During his artistic career he has exhibited in personal and collective exhibitions in Brescia, Milan, Rome, Reggio Calabria, Rovato, Novara, Caravaggio, Iseo, Bergamo and Paris, receiving numerous awards and recognitions. Alborghetti's oils and drawings, due to the excellence of their technical skill, immediately bring to mind the academic tradition of European art, with its respect for the human figure as a synthesis of the perfection of the universe. From this point of view one could think of him as an artist inspired by classicism and closed to contemporary themes. In reality his faces and his nudes reveal themselves in a different dimension, corroded by a hidden restlessness: certain shadows and, by contrast, certain sudden flashes of light introduce a vitalistic thrill of evident romantic origin which sublimates, in the portraits, into a non common expressive intensity and psychology. Hence the substantial modernity of Alborghetti's work, his ability to remain faithfully and ostentatiously virtuosic to the great Renaissance technique, modulating it at the same time to express a range of sensations and impulses characteristic of contemporary culture.
