Filippo Alison, born in Torre Annunziata, was one of the leading figures for Italian design not only as a researcher, but concretely drawing the attention of the design world to the most significant designers and objects of Modernism (Le Corbusier, Wright, Mackintosh , Asplund, Rietveld) which would be re-proposed to the public in Cassina's "I Maestri" collection in re-editions of great cultural as well as commercial interest.
