Mario Rosario Allegretti was born in Naples on 4 October 1945. At the age of nine he emigrated with his family to Venezuela where he developed a strong passion for painting and art in general. In 1960 he returned to Italy and came into contact with the artists of the time and began a new artistic adventure, completely immersed in the classical Neapolitan tradition. He soon distinguished himself for his great artistic sensitivity and the particular chromatic mixture so close to the Posillipo School, to the point of being considered its natural heir. He died in Naples on 22 December 2008 after having written the most beautiful pages of Neapolitan painting of the second half of the 20th century.
