Born in Babylon in 1948, Jaber Alwan graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1970. He continued his higher education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he graduated from the Department of Sculpture in 1975, and the Department of Painting in 1978. He resides and works in Rome, and has held several solo exhibitions in Jordan, Dubai, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Austria and Damascus. He has also participated in numerous collective exhibitions in Italy, Austria, Belgium, England, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Tunisia. His works have been exhibited in Arab and European museums. Jaber Alwan addresses the human being in most of his works.
