Bianconi Andrea Biography
Andrea Bianconi (1974 - ) Vicenza and New York are the places where Andrea Bianconi lives and works as an artist. His work ranges across the different artistic forms of performance, painting and sculpture with exhibitions in public museums and private spaces around the world. He was recently chosen to participate in the fifth Moscow Biennial of Contemporary Art as one of the participating artists in 2013, and where he held a public performance in Red Square in the Kremlin. His individual and group performances include the one at the Italian embassy in Washington during the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Italian unification; Lincoln Center Motion Picture Society, New York; Maraya Art Centre, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates; Swiss Architecture Museum (S AM), Basel, Switzerland; ISCP, Brooklyn, New York; Royal Palace, Milan; Barbara Davis Gallery, Houston, Texas; Volta Show, New York. His public art performances are numerous such as Summer Night Series, Union Square NYC, Italian Cultural Institute, NYC; The Chinese Umbrella Hat Project (Part I). His works have been reviewed in the main newspapers and art magazines, including Vogue, Artforum, Interni, Flash Art, La Repubblica, El Mundo, Elle Décor. A first biography of him was published in 2011 by Charta and in 2012 Cura.Books published his first artist book, “ROMANCE” in print at MoMa PS1, NYC, and in September 2013 his new book “FABLE” is promoted again at MoMa PS1, NYC.
