Claude Andreini was born in Liège in 1950 to Tuscan parents who fled fascism. At seventeen he began to practice clay sculpture. In 1971, having graduated as a teacher of Physical Education and Biology, he went to Algeria (in Greater Kabylia) where he taught for two years in the context of International Cooperation. Returning to Belgium he graduated in physiotherapy. At the same time, in 1976, he was allowed to enter directly into the third year of the sculpture course at the Academy of Liège with Maddy Andrien, an internationally renowned sculptor. In 1980 he worked in Spain and in 1981 he emigrated to Italy. He has lived and worked in Boldara since 1985. Since 1989, he has studied photography in Arles at the International School of Photography every year.
