Nereo Annovi (1908 -1981) self-taught artist, participated in exhibitions in Italy and abroad. In 1941 he won second prize at the National Competition in Rome. In his youth he was a pupil of Giuseppe Graziosi and had contacts with numerous artists in the main Italian cities. His works are currently placed in museums and private collections both in Italy and abroad. In particular, one of his famous self-portraits is still exhibited in the Vasari corridor of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Annovi won several competitions and artistic prizes throughout his artistic career. Annovi's still lifes at the window, images of lamps and old lights, self-portraits and landscapes are very renowned. An excellent designer, he taught for a long time at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.
