Marcolini Armando Biography
Arnaldo Marcolini is an artist born in Ascoli Piceno in 1937. He obtained a diploma from the Liceo Artistico in Rome and enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in via di Ripetta. Here he had the opportunity to meet the painter and set designer Toti Scialoia for a short period. Subsequently, he attended the atelier of the sculptor Alfio Castelli, where he met his wife Maria Teresa Dirre. Towards the end of the 1960s, he met the gallery owner Mara Coccia, owner of the "Arco d'Alibert" art gallery, where he met many artists of the Roman school, such as Angeli and Festa. At the beginning of the 1960s, he held several exhibitions throughout Italy including Venice, Brescia and Cremona. Furthermore, he began to frequent Naples and the artists of Neapolitan irony thanks to the critic Ciro Ruju. In the 1970s, he exhibited at the "Agrifoglio" gallery in Milan and at the Ars gallery of his friend Grazia Chiesa, publisher of the international magazine "d'Ars Agencj". He was included in the book "37 Critics and 37 young Italian artists" by Bolaffi. In 1972 he met the critic Giorgio Di Genova while participating in the "wash Art" in Washington and the Bologna art fair. He became friends with the painter and engraver Nino Anastasi, with whom he held several important exhibitions in Venice, Verona, Milan and at the Expo in Bari and Bologna. He began frequenting the home of the art collector Serafino Fiocchi in the 1990s and became an admirer and friend. In recent years, Armando Marcolini has been invited to national and international exhibitions, including Arte Mail. He collaborated with the publisher of the magazine "La Finestra" of Trento.
