Arrigo Arrigoni Biography
Arrigo Arrigoni (1935 - ) was born in Bellinzago Lombardo in 1935 and graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan. Giorgio Giannobi was born in Seregno in 1937 and in 1964 he graduated in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan. Their joint work began in 1961, when they were still students at the Polytechnic; they deal with stand setups, furnishing problems and industrial design. Graduates open a studio in Milan, become interested in interior architecture, follow a refresher course in urban planning techniques and probably attend numerous competitions. He has collaborated with Busnelli Export since 1965; the result of this collaboration are the products Myrice, Manasse, Ghibea, Dafne, Mehari, Adaia, Dicla (see photo) and the Galaia mobile series. In particular, the Piumotto sofa was born from the creativity of Arrigoni and Giannobi, one of the most important products of the Busnelli production of the 70s, also the protagonist of a massive advertising campaign, as well as a commercial on the Rai Carosello with the participation of Franca Valeri. Together with Giorgio Giannobi he designed the Piumotto design sofa in 1973 for the Industriale Busnelli group - Tulsa.
