The "Arte dei Vascellari" ceramic production factory was founded in Orvieto in 1920 by Pericle Perali. In 1921 the artistic direction was entrusted to the ceramist Ilario Ciaurro. In 1924 Pericle Perali left the company to Ilario Ciaurro who in 1928 changed the company name to "Fabbrica di Ceramiche Artistiche Ilario Ciaurro" and entrusted its management to Angelina Suadoni, who ran it until 1938. Among the company's collaborators we remember: Leonello Solini, Lazzaro Osio, Rosita Fravolini and Umberto Tiberi.
