Artigianato Orobico Biography
Orobico Artigianato, a company active in Milan in the post-World War II period, was founded and directed by the industrialist Luciano Rumi. Specializing in the creation of modern style ceramics, the company has worked in collaboration with various artists, including the painter Donnino Rumi, brother of the owner, Franco Normanni, Domenico Rossi, Mario Cornali, Attilio Nani, Claudio Nani, Roberto Algisi, Egidio Lazzarini and Erminio Maffioletti. It is possible that the company established a collaboration in the 1950s with Franco Garelli. In 1949, Orobico Artigianato participated in the 1st National Ceramics Exhibition, held as part of the 4th Vicenza Fair. In 1951, some of the company's ceramic products were exhibited at the Milan Triennale. Production ceased in 1953.
