Born in Capriolo (BS) on 24 August 1915. With a precocious artistic vocation, he attended the "Andrea Fantoni" art school in 1928, in 1931 he enrolled at the Accademia Carrara and in 1934, at just 19 years old, he enrolled at the Academy of San Luca in Rome. In the 1940s he took part in numerous group exhibitions and held his first solo exhibitions in the Bergamo area. In 1960 he moved to Bergamo. Assoni's painting, through a refined technique, tends to bring to canvas the emotions conveyed by the masses and the architectural details, especially those of antiquity. He is in fact known in particular for his portals, carefully analyzed down to the smallest details in reality, and then carefully transferred to canvas with strong realism and exceptional meticulousness in execution.
