Vittorio Avanzi (1850-1913) is an Italian painter, known for his landscape paintings.
He mostly painted the surroundings of Monaco, mountain subjects in the Bergamo area, stretches of the Adigetto" and "Campagnola" in Verona, hilly landscapes in the Veronese area, and in particular the surroundings of Campofontana, where he stayed for long periods, as well as seascapes Venetian and Capri.
The painting that made him famous as an artist of full realism was "Surroundings of Dachau", exhibited in Turin and purchased by the Duke of Genoa. Other paintings that achieved great success were "Landscape of the Isar", "The Marina of Capri", “First leaves".
He exhibited in various important exhibitions, such as in Venice in 1887, at the Biennials of 1895, 1897, 1899, at the Verona Biennials from 1867 to 1912, in Rome in 1891, in Monaco and in various exhibitions in Switzerland.
The author died in Selva di Progno (Verona) on 8 August 1913.
