Francesco Avesani (1953 - ) is an artist from Verona born in 1953. He attended the Cignaroli Academy and initially dedicated himself to oil painting, before turning mainly to engraving. He holds the chair of engraving at the Academy of Verona. He has exhibited his works in numerous solo and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad since 1975 (Spain, Switzerland and the United States). Having started his career painting in oils, he later developed a passion for drawing and engraving. Through drawing, which he considers a totally autonomous language, almost a form of "painting", he presents himself to the public as a "graphic" artist. With engraving he expands his research on the sign, recovers the tradition of graphic art and at the same time welcomes with great interest the fascinating invitations that the resources of this technique suggest. Graphics therefore becomes his main language of creative expression.
