Maurizio Azzolini Biography
Maurizio Azzolini (1937 - ) was born in Bondeno-Ferrara in 1937, he moved to Milan in the Sixties, then to Venice, where he came into contact with the masters of contemporary art. Azzolini has participated in numerous exhibitions, competitions and group shows, receiving acclaim and recognition everywhere. He has held personal exhibitions in Mestre, Treviso, Ferrara, Mirano, Padua and Venice. Only approximately can Azzolini's production be defined as informal; the artist knows well, however, that "geometry is the mother of all forms" and his paintings underlie, despite the heated gestures, a hidden supporting structure, secret one might say. His works can be found in private and public collections both in Italy and abroad. The Ca' Pesaro Museum in Venice also houses one of his works.
