John Badham Biography
John MacDonald Badham (1939 - ) born in 1939 in Luton, Bedfordshire, England, is an American film and television director of English origin, best known for the films Saturday Night Fever (1977), Blue Thunder (1983), WarGames (1983 ). After his version of Dracula (1979), working on television for years, he had his breakthrough in 1977 with Saturday Night Fever, a huge worldwide success with John Travolta. WarGames (1983), starring Matthew Broderick, is his other arthouse film, famous for its portrayal of popular Cold War fears of nuclear terror and the Holocaust, as well as being one of the first films to address the subculture of amateur hacking. In addition to his numerous film credits, Badham has also directed and produced for TV, including credits on Rod Serling's Night Gallery and the A&E television series The Beast.
