Chiarella from Chiavari, he dedicated himself above all to female figures and nudes, as well as religious subjects preserved in churches on the Eastern Riviera (among others, the canvases for the church of Santa Maria of Bacezza, in Chiavari). He was also active in Rome. In 1891 he exhibited a portrait of Canova at the exhibition of the Genoese Promoter.
