Mirko Baricchi (La Spezia, 1970) After high school he moved to Florence, where he attended the Palazzo Spinelli Institute for Art and Restoration. After graduating and a short period of work as an advertising graphic designer, he left for Mexico, a journey that marked his life as an artist. Here he works as an illustrator for a well-known American communications agency, but does not abandon his passion for painting. In one of his numerous visits to Mexican museums he was struck by the artist Rufino Tamayo. He left his job at the agency as an illustrator and shortly afterwards took part in a group show at the Siqueros Museum, receiving positive feedback from critics. After more than two years he returns to Italy, moving to Milan, where he works in the field of advertising and publishing. In this period the decision to dedicate himself exclusively to painting matured. In 1998 he returned to live in La Spezia.
