Eyal Baruch Biography
Eyal Baruch was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1965. He is a photographer, anthropologist and computer scientist. He studied at Tel Aviv University, where he had the opportunity to introduce Visual Anthropology by holding seminars on the topic for several years. In 2002 he moved to Rome, where he works as an IT consultant and where he has presented various photographic exhibitions, both individual and collective. Among his exhibitions, one of the most significant was the personal "Non Visto", in which the photographer used water as a tool to provide a different vision of the city of Rome: the protagonist becomes the capital that lives on the river, or that fountains that create magnificent water features. In the context of this exhibition, the photographer's lens was able to capture the specular reflection, the upside-down image, returning an unexpected image of Rome, more intimate and profound, as in a distorting mirror. Eyal Baruch's visual research manifests itself in his ability to interpret and transform reality through photography, creating a dialogue between the captured image and the spectators' perception of it.
