Massimo Barzagli Biography
Massimo Barzagli (Morradi, Florence, 1960). He exhibits in prestigious national and international galleries. Alongside the pictorial production, he creates decidedly spectacular environmental installations. His works are born from the concept of the imprint and are often covered with very colorful flowers, which the artist scatters on the canvas. The trace left is, therefore, material but above all it is something that belongs to real life. Just as Yves Klein used models as paintbrushes, Barzagli physically paints his subjects and lets their bodies paint the canvas. Among the numerous personal and collective exhibitions and performances, we remember those of 1990, 1996 and 2000 in Rome, in the Galleria l'Attico, in 2002 in Miami, New York and Florence, in 2006 in Shanghai and in 2009 again in Rome and Florence. His debut dates back to 1997, at the Asselijn Gallery in Amsterdam.
