Renzo Bassi (1903 - 1978) was a talented Ligurian painter, with profound knowledge of culture. He applied powerful expressions of interiority, tranquility and immediacy to the canvas, making even small things alive and large. He is attentive to all new artistic developments.
He frequented Carlo Carrà during his stay in Milan as they both shared a predilection for the Ligurian region. Renzo Bassi, who has a particular affinity for outdoor painting, finds pleasure in fusing post-impressionism with poetic impulses linked to simple and fluid objects, always governed by ordinary life.
