Paul Beauvoir (1932 - 1972) was a Haitian artist. Influenced in design by his mother's professional hand embroidery, Beauvoir played an important role in the evolution of modern Haitian painting. Although still figurative, his work is primarily based on color studies, where orange and blue often predominate. His impressionist work is characterized by lines of clear demarcation with backgrounds of color (in particular yellow). Bauvoir is another by-product of the Center d'Art and later the Foyer des Arts Plastiques.
