Gabriella Benedini Biography
Gabriella Benedini (1932 - ) was born in Cremona in 1932, graduated from the Paolo Toschi Institute in Parma and later attended the Brera Academy. He stayed in Paris from 1958 to 1960 where he held personal exhibitions and participated in collective exhibitions. Returning to Milan, her first Italian personal exhibition was organized in 1962, curated by Carlo Munari. The many significant travels she made to Africa, Asia and America also fueled her ongoing studies, providing her with ideas and inspiration for the foundational images and forms that would later become familiar in her artistic career. He then progressively abandons his investigation of images and gains experience in a variety of languages, including cinematic language. He founded the "Gruppo Metamorfosi" in 1977, with which he spent over a decade traveling in Europe and Italy. Starting in the early 1980s, his interest began to shift towards sculpture. We mention "The stories of the earth", "Mutations", "Theatres of Melancholy", "Pendulums of Time", "Protractors", "Sextants" and "Constellations". Her language expands using increasingly different forms and materials, which lead her to create installations such as "Il Teatro di Persefone" (1985), "Arpe" in 1993, "Navigazioni" in 1996 and "Vele" in 2002.
