Rudolf Ber Biography

Rudolf Bér (1924 - 2004), born in Hungary in 1924, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1950. In 1974 he was awarded the Munkácsy Prize, the highest Hungarian award for an artist. He is a painter who produces large-scale works; in the seventies he created several dry wall paintings and with the inlay technique. One of his 80 m2 dry murals decorates the University of Budapest. In 1980 he won the gold medal and the scholarship from the Italian Academy. Since the 1960s he has participated in all the main national exhibitions in his homeland and has exhibited several times in Italy, France, Germany, Russia and Switzerland. Rudolf Bér has a very strong spiritual energy that accelerates the picturesque excitement of each work. Power and vigor: these are the first words that come to mind when looking at his paintings. Showers of color pour down on you, vibrant yellows, prismatically broken greens, shimmering reddish blues, restful lilac browns. His paintings are a psychoanalysis of reality. He is an important and complete artist, who successfully combines the unique language of knowledge, meditation and sensitivity that touches the boundaries of the universal world.
