Mauro Berrettini (Buonconvento, 1943) is an Italian sculptor. He studied at the Art Institute of Siena and the Art School of Carrara. After teaching Art Education in schools he actively dedicated himself to sculpture. In 1981 he collaborated with internationally renowned artists, such as Pietro Cascella, Giò Pomodoro, Costantino Nivola and Joe Tilson, on the "Campo del Sole" project in Punta Navaccia, in the municipality of Tuoro sul Trasimeno on Lake Trasimeno. In 1984 he created the setting of Piazza Artemio Franchi in Siena. He then continued to collaborate on collective sculpture projects in particular environmental contexts and urban neighborhoods. Among these is the sculpture park created for the new Agrestone district (also called Florentia di Gracciano) in Colle Val d'Elsa. He is the author of fountains and monumental sculptures in several Italian cities. The Suspended Stone is one of his large sculptures located in the Chianti Sculpture Park. He held two solo exhibitions in Siena, where he lives and works, in 1984 and 1999.
