He worked as an architect and designer with great passion even before completing his studies. In 1969, together with designer Mario Melocchi, he created Cini&Nils, a brand created with the ambition of creating objects with an innovative and functional design. It anticipates the experiments of the 70s, a period in which design was looking for important changes. In 1972 he designed and created the Cuboluce lamp. The Museum of Modern Art in New York purchased it for its permanent collection and today it is still considered a very current object. It is a small bedside lamp that magically turns on with the simple gesture of lifting the lid. Other of his products will be included in the collection: the revolving magazine rack, the 1970 card table and the 1973 Cubobar.
