Annibale Biglione Biography
Annibale Biglione (Settimo San Vittore 1923 - Pietra Ligure 1981) He created his first abstract painting in 1944 in a Nazi concentration camp. In October 1951 he participated in the MAC collective exhibition at the Bergamini Gallery in Milan. From the Turin concretist group, of which Biglione is a member, comes an official adhesion to the MAC, in the form of the Manifesto of the Turin group, signed not only by Biglione, but also by Galvano, Parisot and Scroppo, and which appeared in bulletin no. 2 of " Concrete Art”, in November 1952. Parallel to the release of the bulletin, the same group organises, at the Saletta Gissi in Turin, the Exhibition of Concrete Painters of Milan and Turin. To corroborate the close collaborative bond that was established between Turin and Milan, the fact that the pages of the "Arte Concreta" bulletin n.8 and the one - already mentioned - n.9, are managed entirely by the Turin editorial team, established by the four signatories of the Manifesto. In March 1953, Biglione exhibited at the concretist exhibition of the San Matteo Gallery in Genoa. In July 1954, with the collective exhibition of concretists at the Krayd Gallery in Tucumán (Argentina), Biglione's exhibition experiences in MAC exhibitions came to an end.
