Werner Blaser Biography
Werner Blaser, born in 1924, was a renowned Swiss architect. A student of Alvar Aalto, Blaser received a solid education at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and in Japan. After completing his studies, he opened his own studio in Basel in 1959, where he worked with considerable commitment and success.
During his career, Blaser established a long collaboration with Mies van der Rohe, famous architect of the Modern Movement. This collaboration led to the publication of several books on the architecture of Mies van der Rohe, allowing Blaser to further deepen his knowledge of modern architecture and consolidate his reputation as an expert in the field.
In addition to his work as an architect, Blaser has also been involved in major design projects. For example, his dresser was awarded the prestigious "First selective exhibition - International furniture competition" award in Cantù. This competition was aimed at enhancing the image of Italian furniture and the jury included important figures in architecture and design, such as Gio Ponti, Alvar Aalto, Romano Barocchi, Carlo De Carli and Finn Juhl.
