Faustino Boatti, born in Bergamo in 1797 and died in 1857, was a painter and miniaturist. Under the guidance of Giuseppe Diotti, at the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo, he became a well-known specialist in the field of illuminated portraiture during the first half of the nineteenth century.

Faustino Boatti, born in Bergamo in 1797 and died in 1857, was a painter and miniaturist. Under the guidance of Giuseppe Diotti, at the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo, he became a well-known specialist in the field of illuminated portraiture during the first half of the nineteenth century.
Having completed his studies in 1821, Boatti began practicing as a portrait and watercolorist for the aristocracy in his hometown. Here, he enjoyed the protection of Count Andrea Vertova. From 1828 to 1832 he continued his activity in the cities of Como and Brescia. In the early 1930s, he opened his own studio in Milan, where he continued his activity until his death in Bergamo in 1857.
