Michel Jacques Boisrond (1921 - 2002) was a French director and screenwriter. His work spanned five decades, from the 1950s to the 1990s. French director and screenwriter, Michel Boisrond began his career in the 1940s as an assistant director. He was thus trained by the biggest names of the time, both Jean Delannoy, Jean Cocteau and above all René Clair, whom he accompanied in many films. From her first film as director, Brigitte Bardot reveals. This Sacred Boy (1955) is already in the tone of his future successes which will often be playful popular comedies. We can mention in the same genre A Parisian (1957), The Path of the Schoolboys (1959), Do you want to dance with me? (1959) where he also reveals the talent of the young Alain Delon. He continues with Famous Loves (1961), Parisians (1961), Search for the Idol (1964). Very at ease in light comedy, he also threw himself into exotic action films with Atout coeur à Tokyo for OSS 117 (1966). He was much criticized at the time for the lack of ambition of his works, but he remains a skilled and therefore esteemed technician. In 1977 he left the big screen to dedicate himself to television where he directed until 1995.
