Boizot Simon Louis (Paris, 1743 - Paris, 1809) Son of an upholsterer who worked for the Gobelins factory, as a young man he studied at the academy as a pupil of the sculptor Slodzt. He studied for five years in Rome at the French Academy. In France he worked for many representatives of the court, he made a bust of Marie Antoinette. During the revolution he was a member of the commission for monuments and in 1805 he obtained a professorship at the Ecole de Beaux Arts.
