Arturo Bonfanti (Bergamo, 1905 - 1978). Born in Bergamo and moved to Milan where he worked in graphic and applied art. In 1927 his first solo show was organized in the city of origin which welcomed him during the Second World War. From 1946 he made numerous trips to important cities, formed relationships with well-known artists on the international scene and in 1948, in Lyon, he won first prize for the design and construction of environmental architecture. In 1952 he dedicated himself to cinema by creating short films. From 1960 to 1975 he organized solo and group exhibitions in various Italian, European and American cities. In 1965 he exhibited at the Rome Quadrennial, in 1968 at the Venice Biennale and in 1969 at the Sao Paulo Biennial in Brazil. His work is characterized by rigorous geometric figures, compact in the application of color and varied by clever spatial games that make his paintings absolutely unique.
