Luca Bonfanti Biography
Luca Bonfanti (1973 - ) was born in Desio (MB) in 1973 and is a painter, sculptor, photographer, musician and designer. He took his first steps in the world of art far from the academic context or the elites of the art system . He can be considered a self-taught artist. As was once customary, he started in the workshop following the teachings of some masters. Moving away almost immediately from gestural and figurative painting, Luca Bonfanti has developed a completely personal abstract language that does not allow any categorization. The charisma of his painting consists precisely in the mysterious process that allowed him to simplify the complex vision that his paintings express. His modus operandi is clear and defined: homogeneous distribution of color, in such a way as to make any trace of brushstroke disappear, or almost any. This method serves to make the spectator's contemplation more intimate and intimate, allowing a journey into the world of color. In 2010 he joined the artists of the "Museo della Permanente di Milano" and in 2011 his new project entitled "The Old and the Young" began, in collaboration with the National Association of the Maps of the Treasures of Italy, with the patronage of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of Expo 2015. This new professional and institutional goal will take him on a tour around Italy which will end in 2016, exhibiting for the next few years in major museums such as "Palazzo Reale" in Milan. On the occasion of expò Milano 2015 the master will create 12 works for the cultural artistic project CONTAINER LAB and will see him as an absolute protagonist for Italian art by creating, commissioned by the Italian state, a tribute to the great genius of Leonardo Da Vinci with The Last Supper and works linked to the master and the theme of water. Today he has over 50 solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad in his CV.
