Franz Borghese (Rome, 1941 - Rome, 2005). After his artistic training at the city's high school, he founded the Gruppo and the magazine Ferro di Cavallo. Since 1970 his works have become satirical and ironic representations of the bourgeoisie of the beginning of the century, with a bitter streak towards human weaknesses, he abandons dark and profound atmospheres, to arrive at the depiction of funny characters that recall the style of Otto Dix and history from the beginning of the century. During his career he will be attracted by different artistic personalities: Bosch, Brughel, Callot, Piero della Francesca, Goya, Longanesi, Maccari, Fiume. In the 1980s he created sculptures, etchings and paintings, inspired by William Hogarth. A multifaceted and undoubtedly brilliant artist.
