Fausto Borrani was a famous Italian painter and illustrator, born in Brescia on 6 August 1925. From a young age, he showed a great interest in art and began to cultivate this passion thanks to the influence of his father, who was a designer of homes. After the end of the Second World War, Fausto Borrani was hired by the Scuola Editrice, where he worked as an illustrator and painter for twenty-six years. Despite his editorial work, Fausto Borrani has always dedicated his artistic energies to painting, which he explored in depth in his free moments. A theme that has always fascinated him was the city of Brescia, which he immortalized in numerous works from the 1960s to the 1980s, using a color palette that expressed the atmosphere of the city before the transformations that occurred in recent years . Even after retiring from the Publishing School, Fausto Borrani continued to collaborate with important Italian publishing houses, creating series of color and black and white drawings for encyclopedias and children's books, translated into various languages.
