Pietro Bortoluzzi Artwork valuations, appraisals and auction estimates

Pietro Bortoluzzi, known as Pieretto Bianco, was born in Trieste in 1875.
His artistic talent and passion for art led him to become a famous painter in the early twentieth century. During childhood, Pietro Bortoluzzi moved to Venice and in the following years he dedicated himself with commitment to the study of art, first as a self-taught studying the works of Tintoretto and Tiepolo, then attending the Academy of Venice and the Academy of Burano .
The mountains of Tignes and Venice were some of his favorite subjects, together with the landscapes of the ancient villages and portraiture, which Bortoluzzi painted with mastery and a technique and use of color that sometimes recalls impressionist painting.
In 1915 he went to San Francisco to decorate the Italian pavilion of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition.
The following year, he began a career as a set designer at the Metropolitan Opera House and in 1920 he moved to Cuba for 6 years.
Returning to Italy he dedicated himself to painting and scenography, teaching at the Institute of Fine Arts in Parma before moving to Rome. Read the full biography

Pietro Bortoluzzi Biography

Pietro Bortoluzzi, known as Pieretto Bianco, was born in Trieste in 1875.
His artistic talent and passion for art led him to become a famous painter in the early twentieth century. During childhood, Pietro Bortoluzzi moved to Venice and in the following years he dedicated himself with commitment to the study of art, first as a self-taught studying the works of Tintoretto and Tiepolo, then attending the Academy of Venice and the Academy of Burano .
