Gino Bosa Biography
Luigi Bosa, better known as Gino Bosa, was born in Genoa in 1961. He is mainly a well-known painter in the Italian artistic environment. He is also a curator of exhibitions and events such as the “Masterless Eye” group exhibition of six artists belonging to the Millennial generation, the “I Know You Know That You Know” of eight artists. He is also a designer specialized in the creation of unique pieces of furniture under the pseudonym Mordecai Pillant. His philosophy starts from the idea that the artist must never define himself in a category, he must never feel complete, the artist must always put himself on the line, he must always question himself, never be satisfied with himself and above all he must be the first self-critical. For him, art is tension and the desire to improve. The artist Bosa loves to fight against himself and does so with works created by borrowing objects from the everyday imagination, simple materials such as fabric, cotton, polystyrene and adhesive tape, dust and spray paint. All this creates an emotional vortex that must transport those who observe the work, a journey in which time does not follow linearity. He has exhibited in Italy and abroad, in personal and collective exhibitions. In Brescia he held the solo show "If it's for you say I'm not there" at The Address gallery where he exhibited his contemporary art works. We remember him for the personal "Front Line edition" of 2010 in Florence in which Bosa exhibited his works in a place that generally has a different function in his daily life, in that case in a furniture showroom, with a house adjacent to it. Gino Bosa is the perfect example of how an authority in his field can behave with humility in a playful and entertaining way. He is one of the experts on “Cash or Trash – Who offers more?”, Discovery's revelation show in which actor Paolo Conticini auctions off antiques brought by viewers. Gino Bosa is one of the art dealers, a role he knows well as he is a true authority in the field.
