Bottega Ghianda Biography
Bottega Ghianda, a renowned example of cabinet making, is recognized globally, and was founded in the mid-19th century in the Brianza region. Initially specializing in the artisanal creation of inlaid parquet, it subsequently distinguished itself for the production of a vast range of furniture and furnishing accessories. In the 70s, Pierluigi Ghianda, known as "the poet of wood", led the workshop to achieve international success, thanks to important collaborations with renowned designers of the time, including Gae Aulenti, Cini Boeri, the Castiglionis, Gio Ponti, Richard Sapper, Ettore Sottsass, Matteo Thun, and others. Upon the Maestro's death in 2015, the entrepreneur Romeo Sozzi acquired the company, entrusting the artistic direction to Michele De Lucchi. Bottega Ghianda continues production today through the work of artisans who have inherited the skills of Pierluigi Ghianda, thus representing the future of one of the most prestigious Italian manufacturers.
