Augusto Bozzi Biography

Augusto Bozzi, a designer born in 1924, is particularly known for his collaboration with the Lombard company Saporiti, with which he designed chairs and armchairs starting from the late 1940s. Sergio Saporiti, founder of the company in 1945, has always wanted to work with architects and designers capable of creating products in which simplicity was combined with innovation in the use of cutting-edge materials in the furniture sector. Bozzi, together with Alberto Rosselli and Giorgio Raimondi, brought these ideas to life. Among his most famous and imitated seats, we remember the "Ariston" of 1957. However, already ten years earlier, with the "Major chair", he had begun to characterize the products with an elegant and refined Italian style, which until then they had suffered significantly from the Scandinavian influence.
