Carlo Bracci, from a Florentine family, lives and works in Genoa, where he was born in 1934, and in Milan. After a period of experience in the figurative, in the portraits of well-known personalities and in the creation of objects and design prototypes, both for private individuals and for industrial production, he produces sculptures and drawings for important advertising agencies in Milan. At the end of the 70s he directed his interest towards informal themes. An airplane pilot, he is fascinated by flying over the expanses of multifaceted landscapes, plowed fields, canals, vast expanses of colors and lights with surprising geometries. It is the beginning of the period on the original and very personal theme of jute and twine paintings, archaic materials linked to the history of man, but also to the future of the conquest of space.
