Bresciani Virio. Pietrasanta (Lucca), 1925-2000. Having graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, he exhibited starting in 1955; in 1961 he held his first solo show, in the Galleria Europa in Milan, followed by other exhibitions in Viareggio in 1965, Brescia in 1967 and again in Milan in 1968. Throughout the Seventies and Eighties he exhibited mainly in Tuscany. The last exhibitions were held in 1993 and 1999 in his hometown. He also took part in important national prizes, including the Suzzara, winning first prize in 1961. After his Tuscan training, he arrived in Milan at the end of the 1950s, becoming part of the group of artists of the Bergamini Gallery with the Banchieri painters, Hats and Irons. Having returned to Tuscany, in recent times he has dedicated himself above all to the landscape genre, interpreted with a narrative vein and a wealth of tonal variations and vibrations.
